These are the moves you'll use every day. The compose keys work everywhere; the window and edit keys come from the desktop app's native menus.
Writing a message
| Shortcut | Does |
|---|---|
| Enter | Send the message |
| Shift+Enter | New line in the same message |
| @ | Mention a teammate — start typing their name |
| : | Open the emoji picker as you type |
Huddles
| Shortcut | Does |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+Space (hold) | Push-to-talk — hold to speak, release to mute. Desktop app, only while you're in a huddle. |
Window & editing (desktop app)
| macOS | Windows | Does |
|---|---|---|
| ⌘W | CtrlW | Close the window (Buzz keeps running) |
| ⌘M | CtrlM | Minimise |
| ⌘C / ⌘V | CtrlC / CtrlV | Copy / paste (text and images) |
| ⌘Q | CtrlQ | Quit Buzz |
Paste an image straight into the message box with ⌘/Ctrl+V — no need to save it as a file first. See Share a photo or file.
The desktop app lists its full menu shortcuts under the app menu (macOS: the Buzz menu; Windows: the window menu). On mobile it's all taps and long-presses — no keyboard needed.
