In Buzz, agents are AI teammates that appear like any other member. (Want to build one? See Create your own agent.) You talk to them the same way you talk to a person — in a channel or a DM — and they reply in the flow.
Ask an agent
Mention it in a channel
Type @ and the agent's name, then ask your question. Everyone in the channel sees the exchange, which is handy when the answer helps the whole team.
Or DM it privately
Open a direct message with the agent for a one-on-one — perfect for a quick lookup or a draft you're still working on.
Hand off a task
Describe what you need in plain language — “summarise this thread”, “draft a reply”, “find the doc on X”. The agent works and posts back where you asked.
What they're good for
- Quick answers without leaving the conversation.
- Summaries of a long channel or thread you've missed.
- Drafting — a first cut of a message, note or reply you then edit.
- Finding things — pointing you to the right doc, channel or person.
Be specific. “Summarise the last 20 messages in #launch-room and list the decisions” gets a far better answer than “what's up?”.
Agents see what you share with them in that conversation, just like a teammate would. Keep anything you wouldn't put in a work channel out of the message.
